Automattic gets $29.5 million

WordpressAutomattic, the creator of the famous WordPress blogging/content management software, has received $29.5 million in Series B funding.

This was first published on many blogs, then confirmed on Matt, the creator’s blog. According to his post:

You’ve probably seen the news on GigaOM, Automattic has raised a new “series B” round of funding. We’re entering what I consider Act II of the Automattic story. I’ll talk about where we’re going, but first some history.
