WordPress 2.7 rolling towards release

Blogs are on the rise. There are over twenty-two million bloggers in the world, and over ninety-four million internet users (a whopping 50% of people online) are regular blog readers, according to eMarketer statistics from 2007, according to the State of the Blogosphere for 2008. One of the most common services available to power all of these blogs is called WordPress, an open source blogging platform that allows users to setup their very own blog on their own server. WordPress is made by Automattic, a small startup formed after the creation of the platform by original developer Matt Mullenweg. It is easy to see that WordPress is popular! It was downloaded more than 1.55 million times in 2007 alone, and their free, hosted blog service offering users a quick and easy blog at name.wordpress.com hosts over four million blogs to date. My blog runs on WordPress! It’s a great system, and I wouldn’t use anything else. I even host a podcast devoted to WordPress topics, WordCast. Read more >>
I Can Has ICHCB book?

I enjoy many hours of enjoyment (when I have hours available) from LOLcats, thanks to blogs like I Can Has Cheezburger? In a recent post, they announced something interesting, entertaining, weird and exciting all at the same time…
The burger team is excited to announce our NAWT SECOND (#1) Book, “I Can Has Cheezburger? A Lolcat Colleckshun”. On stands October 7th, and available for pre-sale nao at these fine establishments!
Not sure if I want to buy this. I’m not THAT LOLcrazy. The official website for the book is lulzftw.com.
Fall is here!

Starting to feel fall in the air here in Colorado! I’m ready for it. Since classes resumed at the end of August the weather has made me feel like it should be Thanksgiving or Halloween, so I’m excited that I’m no longer crazy and those holidays are actually approaching. (You’ll notice I’ve changed my background accordingly- what do you think?)
Leaves have already started to fall, though you can’t see it in this picture (of course). I saw Charlotte sitting over underneath the tree, opened up Photobooth and took this. Are you ready for fall? Wish summer would stay a bit longer? Just want to move on to winter?
