I got news yesterday from a good friend and “business partner” of mine, Kym Huynh, about a little incident that seems to have stumbled into while in Chile, where he was having a 3-week vacation in celebration of his law school graduation.
Unfortunately, Kym was involved in a pretty bad car accident and ended up with a broken arm. After pretty intense surgery (a high-tech reconstruction of the arm rather than a traditional cast) during a five-day hospital visit, Kym is now staying with a friend for a safe recovery.
Last I heard, ”Kym’s still in a bit of pain, but he gets better every day.” IN fact, he’s even loopier than usual thanks to all the morphine. Update: An email from Kym notes that
Despite having titanium implants in my arm now, the bright side is that I get closer and closer to becoming more like my chosen hero… Ironman (though I get the titanium upgraded version). Also, my left arm is now unbreakable, so if anyone ever needs protection, you know who to call.
If you’ve got a minute, post a note on the drop.io we’ve set up. (Or better yet, call 646-462-4161 x 08778 and leave a voice message.) As Lorelle VanFossen put it, it’s time to “nag him to health”. It would make Kym’s day, just like he’s made many of yours over the years. Best wishes to Kym for a speedy recovery! For those of you wondering, Lorelle will be filling the gap on WordCast until we have him back.
